The Real Reason I Built TexasFilmFinder.com

I started TexasFilmFinder.com out of a very real need I had as a business owner here in Texas. At Media Bar Productions, we’ve been producing video for more than 15 years. Even with a strong in-house team, there were always times when I needed extra help, an editor, a second videographer, a voiceover artist, an actor, or another specialist for a project.

People would send me resumes, reels, or emails, but honestly, they’d get lost in the shuffle. I’d misplace them or forget to follow up, and that meant I was missing out on great talent right here in Texas. That’s when it hit me: what if there was one central place where filmmakers, editors, crew, and creatives across Texas could connect?

At first, I built TexasFilmFinder.com as a directory to make my own life easier. A place to organize Texas talent and have a go-to resource for my company. But as I worked on it, I realized this could be much bigger. It could be a tool for the entire Texas creative community: a space where companies can find the right people, and where creatives can showcase their skills and land new opportunities.

Yes, it started as something I needed, but it’s grown into something else. TexasFilmFinder.com is here to connect, support, and strengthen our state’s creative industry, while keeping production jobs right here in Texas. Because when we “Keep Creative in Texas,” everybody wins.
